Poetry

Not infected yet

A tunnel of trees
a man walking his dog
red braces, Panama hat.
I buy a string of garlic
I like the look of it.
The wind gets up
banging the trees about
their leaves tumble to
the ground, I buy a
4 euro hat at
the local vide grenier
doesn’t matter that
it’s ugly I’ll have
warm ears in winter.
I’ve got a flea bite
not infected yet.
The flight of the
bumble bee has become
our plight, serious stuff.
The neighbours’ cows
watch us play table
tennis. They look really
interested. Critical even.
